TheUSCCBfilingjoinsalitanyoflawsuitsseekingtoblockTrumpfromendingfundingforvariousgovernmentprogramsandagencies.ThesuitrelatestotheRefugeeActof1980,underwhichtheUSCCBworkedintandemwiththeU.S.governmenttoresettleover930,000refugees,thelawsuitclaims.
“Fordecades,theUSgovernmenthaschosentoadmitrefugeesandoutsourceditsstatutoryresponsibilitytoprovidethoserefugeeswithresettlementassistancetonon-profitorganizationslikeUSCCB,”thelawsuitreads,accordingtotheCatholicHerald.
“Butnow,afterrefugeeshavearrivedandbeenplacedinUSCCB’scare,thegovernmentisattemptingtopulltherugoutfromunderUSCCB’sprogramsbyhaltingfunding,”itcontinued.
