AllthreeoftheretiringorretiredprelatestenderedtheirresignationstotheVaticanupontheir75thbirthdays inaccordancewith Churchlaw.
AuxiliarybishopofChicagotoleadCincinnatiFrancisonWednesdayaccepted theresignationof CincinnatiArchbishopDennisSchnurr,theVaticansaid, andappointedChicagoAuxiliaryBishopRobertCaseytotakehisplaceinthatarchdiocese.
SchnurrhasservedastheCincinnatiarchbishopsince2009.HehadbrieflyservedascoadjutorarchbishopthereandwasthebishopofDuluthfrom2001to2008.
